Blog EntryTrumpets Playshop Alumni Star in U.S. ProductionsMay 17, '08 7:53 PM
by Joel for everyone
Playshop turned 15 this year and I just wanted to share about a couple of alumni who is doing well abroad and "pursuing the dream". I read in Alvin Trono's blog that 18 year old Alexa Ortega is starring in the lead role of AIDA (the musical by award-winning Elton John and Tim Rice) in San Mateo, California. She beat out two other veteran actors, a 33 and a 24 year old for the role. Alexa is the older sister of Cheska Ortega, who played Gabriella in Stages production of High School Musical Onstage! at the Meralco.

Another Playshop alumni making it is Katrice Gavino who as told by Lito Villareal (the composer  for both Trumpets' Little Mermaid and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) starred as Dorothy last year in a Los Angeles production of The Wizard of Oz. Both Alexa and Katrice are original members of the Playshop Kids.

I strongly encourage all our students out there to keep honing their skills in Trumpets Playshop and using what you have learned to great advantage in the world. God gave us that talent and it makes Him happy to see us excel with it.

Dont forget to check out Playshop's Official website.

Blog EntryFirst Name Audition LyricsAug 23, '07 1:18 PM
by Joel for everyone
Boys - Could you be messiah

NOW I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU
I’M SO TIRED, I’M TIRED
I’VE READ EVERY BOOK, AND I’VE SUNG EVERY SONG
MY MIND MAY BE RIGHT, BUT MY HEART FEELS SO WRONG
TELL ME HOW MUCH FURTHER SHOULD MY LIFE GO ALONG
WHICH WAY DO THE ROADS LEAD
WHERE DO I BELONG

ARE YOU FORGIVER
OF MY MOST UNKNOWN SECRETS
PROVIDER OF ALL THAT I NEED
COULD YOU BE BROTHER
THE ONE WHO KNOWS BETTER
WOULD YOU NOW STAND IN THE LEAD

WHEN ALL THIS IS OVER ALL THE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING
IN THE DAYLIGHT JUST WHAT WILL I SEE
THE ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS
TO ALL MY QUESTIONS
COULD YOU BE MESSIAH TO ME
COULD YOU BE MESSIAH TO ME
PLEASE BE MESSIAH
TO ME

Girls - More than his name

WHEN I CHOSE TO LOVE HIM HIS NAME DIDN’T MATTER
AND YES I DO LOVE HIM SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER?
A SIMPLE WORD COULD NOT PUT OUT THE FLAME
WHAT’S IN A NAME?

MORE THAN HIS NAME
THERE’S A JOY IN HIS HEART THAT
I’M STARTING TO FEEL NOW IN MINE
MRS. PETER, THAT SOUNDS JUST FINE
AND WHEN HE CALLS FROM WHEREVER GOD
MAY TAKE HIM TO PROCLAIM
HIS WIFE IS HERE WITH NOT A THING TO BLAME
HIS WIFE OF MORE THAN JUST HIS NAME

Blog EntryWe are Blessed!!Apr 1, '07 11:03 AM
by Joel for everyone

Trumpets would like to give its heartfelt thanks and blessing to everyone who was a part of Sound of Trumpets IV. From the Trumpets Choir, to Sheila our choir director, to our artist friends, to our dancers, to the New Life the Fort band & P.Eric, to the people who worked on the production, the stage and the technicals, to Shangri-La Mall, and to the each and every person who went to watch.

You were all partners of something bigger than just a show or concert. It was a bold declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord of this country the Philippines, and that this nation is on the road to full restoration from everything it has lost throughout the years.

To all of you, you are blessed because you partnered with us and you must expect a major breakthrough to happen in your life soon. Our best is yet to come! Shalom!
